This Month's Studio Rumble: Best 80/90's Sitcom
Tribester Opinions
I was never a huge fan of sitcoms but one show I always really enjoyed (all though I ignored it at first and hopped on the band wagon much after the fact) started in the late 1990's and that was Everybody Loves Raymond.
I though as a sitcom was that it was smart, adult comedy that combined with real life situations with well defined characters. It also had a cast of strong actors supported by very crisp writing.
Very few sitcoms make me even chuckle but Everybody Loves Raymond had the unique effect of laughing out load thus it gets my vote for best 80/90s sitcom even though it was so successful it ran all the way to 2005.

Can there be any doubt that Seinfeld is the master of this domain? Never before has a comedy ingrained itself so much in pop-culture. Even a "delicate genius" can recognize that it reinvented the genre and pushed the envelope. If the terms 'soup nazi", "sponge worthy", "shrinkage", and "puffy shirt" elicit a chuckle then you know exactly what I am talking about.

That's easy... Married With Children! The show was one of the edgier sitcoms in its early years, focusing on the dysfunctional, yet funny, relationships between the members of the Bundy family - Al, Peggy, Kelly and Bud. I'm sure it can be argued that the show has enriched our lives in some way, but all I can say is that it made me laugh.

This is a no brainer for me, Cheers is the best sitcom of all time. With characters like Cliff Clavin, Norm, Sam Malone, and of course the ever lovable Carla, Cheers stood the test of time, even when leading lady Diane left and had to be replaced by Rebecca. I still watch the late night reruns to this day.

I'd second the vote for Cheers. My runner up would be Three's Company re-runs. It was only in syndication that I became old enough to figure out why a Guy would want to room with a blonde and brunette.
